The world is amusing
A report on government initiated switchover to Linux in the Indian state – Kerala, has this amusing tidbit.
“We’re using something called Linux,” says 12-year-old Arya VM as she plays with Tux Paint, a Linux drawing and painting application. And Windows? “Never heard of it,” she says.
Not sure if custom derived distributions is a good idea. Meanwhile Fedora Core 6 has support for Malayalam language used in Kerala. Red Hat Pune office has a full time translator working on making sure Malayalam among other several other Indian languages is well supported in the distribution including full translation of user interface and documentation.
